Melanie is a strong believer in balance and healthy lifestyle. She lives with her husband and two young children in Brooklyn, New York. Melanie completed her bachelor’s degree in Psychology at University of Maryland, College Park. She attended Long Island University Brooklyn Campus where she earned her degree as a Physician Assistant. She worked in Manhattan’s Inwood neighborhood for 15 years at private, community Gastroenterology practice for her father, Dr Thomas Gould. Dr Gould’s practice was part of the community for over 40 years. Melanie received “old school” training that helped sharpen her skills in history and physical exams that can be lost in modern day medicine. Melanie believes that the “gut” is the window into patients’ health. She encourages patients to take an active role in their health and to prescribe medication only when necessary. Melanie is passionate about overall well-being for herself and patients.
